Timeline of Our History

Molteni was established in the laboratory of the historic Molteni Pharmacy, still located in Piazza della Signoria in the heart of Florence, where medications and galenic preparations were produced alongside an innovative process for creating sterile vials for hypodermic use.

The first production facility of the company was founded in Florence, specializing more and more in injectable anesthetics for hospital use, which were crucial during the years of the Great War.

Production was moved to the Scandicci area to expand industrial space, following the growth in production volumes brought by Italy's economic boom in those years.

Molteni transitioned to its third entrepreneurial family, which, for over fifty years, has believed in and invested in the industrial project of a pharmaceutical company that is a key player in the national system.

Molteni began internal development and production of therapeutic solutions in the area of addiction treatment.

Molteni initiated internal development and production of therapeutic solutions in the area of pain therapy.

Collaboration began with other companies for the commercialization of various drugs for pain treatment.

The new headquarters building was inaugurated in the Scandicci area, serving as a representative space and uniting various key departments to promote greater employee integration under one roof.

Today, Molteni operates in over 40 countries worldwide. With its eyes fixed on the future, the company prepares to strengthen and expand its global presence, aiming to remain at the forefront of a constantly evolving landscape, anticipating market needs and perfecting every single process.
